Dubbed "Peaceful Holiday in the service of citizens' safety", "2010 Secure Holiday" program started on Thursday at Mornag's toll station.
This program involves the mobilization of different across roads structures to prevent traffic accidents, the setting up of 28 units of rescue and relief, the creation of 356 posts of beach monitoring, in addition to mobilization of approximately 1,340 lifeguards.
On the occasion, Mr. Rafik Belhaj Kacem, Minister of Interior and Local Development, stressed the importance that President Ben Ali gives to citizens' safety and the prevention of traffic accidents.
He also paid a visit to the different workshops and efforts to prevent traffic accidents, to ensure the rescue and relief both on roads and beaches as well as to fight against forest fires.
The Minister also took cognizance of the various components of the information plan prepared by the National Traffic Observatory, in collaboration with the media.
This plan focuses on increasing awareness programs for radio and television and awareness building in areas with high road density, by opting for written and visual materials.
