Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in an accident on Airport Road on Friday afternoon.
Salha Hamadoon, a 24-year-old UAE national woman, and Mohammad Rafeeq Abdul Hafeez, a 25-year-old Bengali taxi driver, died when their cars collided.
The woman's two children, Hamdan, 1, and Mohammad, 3, who were sitting in the back, suffered injuries.
The woman's Indonesian housemaid was seriously injured and is in intensive care at Al Qasimi Hospital.
According to police sources, the UAE national woman's car swerved into oncoming traffic and hit the taxi head on.
