Damascus - General Establishment of Syrian Railways is gearing up to launch Aleppo-Gaziantep train line, running two trains a week after launching Aleppo-Mersin train last week.
Tishreen Daily quoted Director-General of the Establishment George Mukabari as saying that Aleppo-Gaziantep line is due to transfer 5 million tons of goods annually in addition to transferring passengers both ways.
He also said that the two lines are expected to boost economic, cultural and social exchange between Syria and Turkey.
Kabari added that the Establishment's strategy is based on the state's plans in a way that caters to the market's demands.
Launching the train received significant attention both formally and publicly, where its first trip was accompanied by an official delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the executive office in Aleppo Abdulkader Jazamati.
