France Telecom's Orange has launched its 3 G mobile network in Tunisia, in cooperation with the Investec group, a subsidiary of the Mabrouk group. Mr. Didier Lombard, Chairman of France Telecom, and Marwan Mabrouk, President of Orange Tunisie took part in the event.
The new operator will offer customers mobile, fixed and internet services.
It will also launch operations and install Tunisia's first 2G and 3G network which will cover all Tunisian cities. "We are committed to a project that will transform the Tunisian telecommunications market, and which in return will help Tunisia to join the world's most competitive economies", said Mr. Didier Lombard.
"Orange Tunisia" will benefit from the expertise of 4000 engineers and expert for a customer base of about 193 million customers in 32 countries. The group will also open 400 outlets throughout Tunisia.
