One of the region's fastest growing fruit and nut snacks maker, Mani & Co. announced yesterday plans to expand its operations into Bahrain and Oman in the last quarter of the fiscal.

The company, which reported 75 per cent growth in sales in the United Arab Emirates during the first half of 2010, said it expects a sales growth of 20 per cent in Bahrain and 50 per cent in Oman by the first quarter of 2011, fed by rising consumer demand.

Mani said it appointed Jawad Business Group as its distributor for the Kingdom.

"Bahrain was always a target for our GCC expansion, especially with the investment friendly laws and regulations, as well as the market's desire for high-quality imported food products," said Abouzar Rahmani, Chief Executive Officer and President of Mani & Co. Plans were also afoot to launch tasting and sampling campaigns in Bahrain supported by consumer promotions in the fourth-quarter of this year.

"Diversifying our geographical portfolio and expanding into countries such as Bahrain at this stage is another positive step in our GCC expansion and will play a major role in our overall growth in the region."

Alseer Oman was appointed as an exclusive distributor for Mani's products in the Omani market.

The regional expansion was a part of the company's plan to allocate nearly 65 per cent of its total production output for GCC export.

Nearly 25pc of that will be for the UAE alone, with new targets for Europe also set for approximately 10pc of total production, the company said.
