Bank Saderat Iran (BSI) has opened its second branch in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday.
Iran's ambassador to Qatar Mohammad Taher Rabani was present at the opening ceremony.
BSI Managing Director Hamid Borhani expressed hope that the opening of this branch in Qatar would help expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
Borhani also voiced the BSI's readiness to render banking services to Qatari people and Iranian businessmen who are residing in Qatar.
"The fist branch of BSI was established in Qatar in 1970," Borhani said.
The trade volume between Iran and Qatar stands at dlrs 300 million, he noted, adding that this was not satisfactory and expressed hope that bilateral trade would expand in the future.
Bank Saderat Iran has the largest network of branches within Iran.
In 2005-6 and it has 23 percent of the country's total banking personnel and 29 percent of branches of all commercial banks.
BSI has banking relations with more than 700 foreign banks.
