The topics included will discuss intensive information about licensing and promoting the contents internationally and protecting their intellectual property. As for the game summit, it will be all about the game development, the game industry and the educational and cultural aspects on games in the Middle East region.

Fifty three of the world's specialists in this industry are participating in the summits sharing their studies, expertise and discussing relevant issues that would stimulate this business industry and attract more investment opportunities to the United Arab Emirates and the region.

Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment said: "Character Dubai is a pioneering initiative and is notably the Middle East's only licensing, entertainment, and content event. The character and licensing industry is a burgeoning one and holds immense prospect in this part of the world. Modhesh was the first character to come out of the UAE in the year 2000 and it is only natural for DEPE to support Character Dubai through Modhesh World which was also the first of its kind when launched."

"Our support for Character Dubai is also due to our commitment to help expand the character industry in the region. The DEPE has been a platform for many local, regional, and international characters through its events such as Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, and 'Eid in Dubai'. Numerous international characters have made their Middle East debut during these festivals and our aim is to attract more characters," added Laila.

From his side, Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani; President of INDEX Holding and chairman of Arab Asian Entertainment Content and Licensing Alliance said: "Character Dubai is one of the unique events hosted in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, and it enjoys a strong recognition in the gulf, Middle East and North Africa. Character Dubai is also a member in the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA), which comprises hundreds of companies and associations specialized in manufacturing and promoting cartoon characters world wide."

Mr. Al Madani reiterated that the Dubai World Game Expo and MYCONTENT are two other specialized events that are running in conjunction with Character Dubai. He also said: "This very specialized combined event is considered the most valuable cultural, social, trade and economic event in the region because it features many of the innovative cartoon characters and artistic, cultural and educational works done by local and regional talents."

"We can see a lot of potential for this industry in the region, and we do have many talented students who are always looking for opportunities, and this would be the perfect venue for them as well. Therefore, we strived to bring all the specialists in movie making, documentaries, entertainment content, IT, electronics, and artificial designs and specialists in character industry and merchandising. We have seen that this business industry can be utilized for different purposes, including; media, promotion, tourism, investment and marketing, and we brought the best expertise to show us how." added Mr. Al Madani.

Mr. Al Madani also assured that the three events held on Monday have very positive local, regional and international dimensions. He said that the vision of this event works in line with the Dubai strategic vision announced earlier by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai. The vision formed special directions in order to facilitate the flow of investment in production and service sectors and to increase the economic and social returns, and this is what Index is trying to achieve.

Character Dubai, Game Expo and MYCONTENT create a unique platform for national and international organizations with the participation of big associations and companies from the UAE to showcase their products and services and get the best business opportunities.
