In the presence of various dignitaries and senior members of the UAE's Banking and Financial community, H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman, Emirates NBD, hosted Mr. Lloyd Blankfein, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Group over a lunch cruise.
Among others; the event was also attended by H.E Justin Siberell the United States Consul General to Dubai; H.E. Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Dubai Council for Economic Affairs, H.E. Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Director General of Dubai's Department Of Finance, Mr. Abdulla Saleh, Vice Chairman, Emirates NBD and the Emirates NBD Board Members.
During the event, H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, welcomed Mr. Blankfein to Dubai and thanked him for Goldman Sach's continued interest and commitment to UAE and the region, which continues to be one of the most attractive emerging markets. H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer also stressed upon Dubai's position as the leading business and financial hub in the region and reaffirmed its potential to continue attracting global investments.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Blankfein expressed his confidence in the recovery of the global economy and the future prospects of dynamic economies like Dubai. Mr Blankfein also emphasised the need for taking advantage from the experiences of this unprecedented financial crisis so as to emerge stronger and better in future.
