New Middle East GM to maintain Xerox' momentum in innovation and 'smart' technology solutions in the region

Dubai, UAE - 12th April 2015 - The Middle East is currently a hotbed of technological innovation with a growing interest in 'smart' city solutions and a vision that provides seamless connectivity for businesses worldwide. In a bid to maintain Xerox' momentum in innovation and smart technology solutions that will further drive the Middle eastern ecosystem, Xerox has appointed Chris Govier as the General Manager for its Middle East operations.  Chris is responsible for driving Xerox's vision and supporting the company's business direction in the Middle East - providing innovative and smart technology solutions, improving sustainability and coupling their worldwide brand with their highly regarded regional partners.

Highlighting the current trends in the region, Chris Govier also commented on how Xerox can contribute to the Middle East's overall vision while maintaining its leadership in the region. "According to IDC, hard copy print in the Middle East and Africa is estimated to grow in line with its increase in IT spend - up to 6-8% per annum in 2015 and 2016."

Today innovation is much more about behavior, processes, interaction with technology and how companies can benefit from the institutional knowledge of companies like Xerox.  "This is evident in our approach to Managed Print Services and the next generation of offerings which we are currently training our partners across the Middle East to deliver on. I look forward to developing and implementing Xerox' strategy and lead the company towards the next phase of growth in this region," added Govier.

Govier joined Xerox in 1993 and has held several senior roles within the Corporation including head of Graphic Communications for DMO, several key positions in MEA and, most recently, as the General Manager of their Central Eastern Europe Distributor Group (CDG), where he was instrumental in shaping this organization and delivering a robust and consistent business performance.

Xerox in the Middle East has long-established Joint Ventures and Channel Partners in different markets across the region, many of whom are family owned and have had a reputation for delivering value and consistent customer service for many years.

"Our main goals for 2015 include training, supporting, and ensuring these partners and their customers are treated with dignity and respect.  A business founded on these principles will grow and prosper, and knowing the caliber of everyone concerned means that the bond will strengthen as time goes on," concluded Govier.

Xerox will continue to provide their customers with innovative technologies as well as Managed Print Services (MPS) which help contain cost, drive productivity and meet environmental sustainability goals with a more efficient print infrastructure.
