Lootah Group and Eden Group, a leading Czech company, for cooperation in healthcare and medical tourism.

In his speech during the UAE-Slovakia Business Forum, H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, said that the Chamber is seeking to strengthen economic cooperation with Slovakia, which is one the world's largest automobile manufacturing centres and is well-known for its extensive experience in the field of Information Communication Technology which can be utilised in the field of security for electronic banking and smart services.

H.E. Buamim pointed out that the UAE delegations' visit to Aermobil company, which produces the world's most advanced flying car, came under the Chamber's commitment to support innovation while attracting the world's leading innovative companies to Dubai, as this company will soon begin commercial production of the car and is looking forward to make Dubai as a centre for its future operations in the region, which clearly reflects Dubai attractiveness to innovative global companies, he said.

The President and CEO of Dubai Chamber, also said that as part of its efforts to support the process of growth and development in Dubai, the Chamber is committed to attract leading global companies, especially those from innovative fields, in addition to promoting and strengthening the competitiveness of UAE companies in the Slovak and Czech markets.

H.E. Buamim also stressed on the importance of coordinating efforts to work jointly in the areas of common interests while highlighting promising investment opportunities for UAE companies in Slovakia and their counterparts in Dubai, especially in the areas of trade, health tourism, industry and ICT as he called upon Slovak companies to make Dubai their base for expansion into the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation to the facilitators of the Forum including Dubai and Slovak Chambers, H.E. Al Shhehi stated that the UAE Ministry of Economy seeks to build strong bilateral economic relations with all friendly countries so as to contribute to the development of the national economy and promote investment opportunities for UAE companies abroad and encourage the flow of investments to the country.

H.E. Al Shehhi pointed out that the signing of an agreement for the formation of a Joint Economic Committee between the two countries will take their association to the next level while the business forums will facilitate further collaboration in a number of fields and will also contribute to economic cooperation and investment for both the countries.

Said H.E. Al Shehhi: "The trade between the UAE and Slovakia amounts to about billion dirhams a year, however, these figure do not sufficiently reflect the relationship shared by our two countries and the immense potential that lies ahead for us to work together to increase the two-way trade exchange, particularly the UAE exports to Slovakia.

"This visit has succeeded in putting across to the Slovak businesses the benefits offered by the emirates through its well-diversified and strong economy, built on solid foundations of creativity, knowledge and innovation. Today, the UAE is a leading global trade, tourism and investment hub. Its investment environment is marked by stability, modern infrastructure, effective economic policy and modern economic legislations."

He added, "On its part, the visiting UAE companies got an opportunity to learn about Slovakia's investment environment and the benefits of its strategic location in the centre of Europe, besides discussing investment opportunities in sectors of strategic importance such as food, agriculture and industry."

Currently, there are four Slovak companies among Dubai Chamber's members while the emirate's total non-oil trade with Slovakia reached a value of AED 955 million. This is a 24% increase on 2013, with AED 772 million, and positions the Slovak Republic as Dubai's 93rd largest global trade partner. There is ample joint cooperation potential for both the sides.

The UAE- Slovakia UAE Business Forum was attended by H.E. Dr. Rastislav Khovanec, 1st State Secretary of the Slovak Republic Ministry of Economy, and H.E. Peter Mihok, President, Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, besides members of the UAE's trade mission as well as more than 60 representatives of the private sector and investors in Slovakia.
