JEDDAH: The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) extended 0.88 percent gain further on the first trading day of the week. The index touched intra-day high of 7,617.11 earlier yesterday, spent most of the session in the south and closed green at 7,607.59, achieving 66.1 points.

All market cap indices traded in the positive zone.

All sectors closed in green except Media and Publishing, which pared a nominal 13.76 or 0.5 percent for the day.

Agriculture & Food Industries sector advanced 2.74 percent over the day, posting the biggest gains among all sectors.

Among large cap stocks, Samba Financial Group recovered from previous week's losses and surged by 2.97 percent to close at SR52.00, followed by Saudi Arabian Fertilizers Co. (SAFCO), which also added impressive 1.38 percent, while Kingdom Holding slipped 0.41 percent to close at SR12.25.

The trading activity remained roughly 7 percent lower than that of Wednesday. More than 397.9 million shares worth SR8.9 billion changed hands on the Saudi stock market.

Al Ahlia Insurance Co. and Saudi Industrial Development Co. among all Saudi stocks turned in a splendid performance, rising by 9.9 percent for the day.

On the worst side, Tihama Advt. & Public Relations Co. became the biggest loser of the day, down by 5.32 percent to close at SR75.75.
