Dubai, 24th March, 2015 - The UAE, represented by the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (TRA), will participate in the 4th e-Government GCC Ministerial Meeting to be held tomorrow in Doha, Qatar. The TRA delegation will be headed by H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA Director General.

This year, the meeting's agenda includes a number of important topics and issues related to e-government sector, including the discussion of the General Secretariat's report on the launch of joint e-Government initiatives as well as its report on the progress of the implementation of joint initiatives as per the GCC Guidelines Strategy for e-Government, and the guiding legal e-government framework for government electronic transactions in the GCC countries which was prepared previously.

"The meeting comes in line with the continuous coordination between e-Government stakeholders in the GCC countries and aims to attain higher levels of integration and exchange of expertise and knowledge in this field. The topics listed for discussion are key in order to develop the best formula that helps us achieve the desired objectives," commented H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri.

"We at the TRA are honored to participate in this collaborative meeting with our brothers in the GCC countries to discuss important strategic topics that reflect the GCC cooperation spirit in order to achieve common goals and mainly strengthening the interconnection and integration of electronic systems to facilitate transactions and services among GCC countries in order to best serve the GCC citizen in the present and future," he added.

During the meeting, the e-Government Executive Committee presented its insights on the functions and mechanism of the national centers for computer emergency response committee and the public key infrastructure technical team, after the approval of the Committee at a previous meeting on transferring the duties and specialties of the national centers for computer emergency response committee which is subsidiary of  Telecommunications, IT and Post GCC Ministers Committee in addition to all tasks related to public keys structure both technical and legislative and assigning them to the eGovernment Executive Committee.

The e-Government Executive Committee has recently discussed organizing the 4th GCC e-Government Award and Conference in Bahrain in November and the efforts and action in preparation to the conference.
