Ireland's Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton attends TRA event designed to strengthen the relationship between the ICT sectors in each country
Abu Dhabi - The General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (TRA) staged an 'Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Workshop' at its Abu Dhabi headquarters with an Irish delegation headed by Richard Bruton, Irish Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation along with 17 Irish ICT companies on Thursday, 23rd April.
The purpose of the workshop is to shed light on the prospects of joint investment opportunities for Irish companies in this vital UAE sector. Several heads of divisions attended the workshop from the TRA in addition to officials from UAE telecom operators.
The workshop began with a welcoming speech from H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA Director General, in which he said: "Ireland has a proven track record of successes in various technological fields and holds many successful companies within this sector. The UAE also has remarkable successes, and both countries have a unique opportunity to strengthen cooperation and partnership within the ICT sector. We welcome our guests and wish them every success in finding relevant opportunities in the UAE, especially at this time that is witnessing determined efforts in the field of Smart Government and Smart Cities."
