Bank raises its number of UAE branches to 31

HE Mohammed Hilal Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, yesterday opened the latest branch of Sharjah Islamic Bank in Mussafah in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of HE Mohammed Abdullah, CEO of the Sharjah Islamic Bank, Mr. Jassem Al Bloushi, Head of Retail Banking Group, Mr. Rahma Al Shamsi, Head of Corporate Banking Group, Mr. Majed Shaban, Head of Branches and a number of prominent bank customers.

The new branch, located at the heart of Mussafah; Abu Dhabi's biggest industrial area, is easily accessible and has many parking facilities. It will meet the demands of its customers including residents, employees and businesspeople in a move that falls in line with the bank's expansion plans aimed at spreading its presence throughout the UAE.

On this occasion, HE Mohammed Abdullah said the move corresponds with the bank's strategy aimed at developing services for SMEs by opening new branches at industrial areas across the UAE. The bank wants  to be close to its customers in general and companies in particular, in order to offer them  corporate  and individual financing options, remittances, withdrawals and deposits and a number of individual  banking products to residents.

His Excellency Mohammed Hilal Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: "We commend the step taken by Sharjah Islamic Bank in opening a new branch in Mussafah which is a prosperous, vibrant and growing area. The bank's move into this area will support the growth of the private sector and will provide the necessary facilities to entrepreneurs to help their enterprises grow and prosper".

He added: "Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes the Sharjah Islamic Bank and the other national banks which contribute to supporting and boosting the growth of various sectors by providing the necessary support to enterprises. We wish them success in their endeavors".

The opening of the new branch brings the total number of Sharjah Islamic Bank branches up to 31 throughout the UAE and ATM machines have reached 110, spreading out through different locations in the country to meet the needs of customers, added HE Abdullah.

Last June, Sharjah Islamic Bank opened a branch in Al Khalidiya in Abu Dhabi and has made major leaps during the past few years. In 2012, Sharjah Islamic Bank won the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, in addition to a number of local, regional and international awards.
