new aircraft management and charter company launches with UK AOC
Dubai Oryx Jet, a new, majority British-owned aircraft management and charter company, has established its operational base at London Biggin Hill Airport. The company has just secured its Aircraft Operating Certificate (AOC) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, enabling it to offer public charter services. Its initial managed fleet centres on the Bombardier Challenger 604. Further aircraft types will be introduced as required. Oryx Jet is majority owned by Mike Bradly Russell, who takes the role of CEO and finance director.
Al Tayer Motors scores high ratings
Al Tayer Motors, the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury importer in the United Arab Emirates, together with Premier Motors, its subsidiary in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, was recently honoured by Ford Middle East for achieving the highest Customer Satisfaction Index rating among all Ford dealers in the Middle East for 2009. The Ford Customer Viewpoint, a monthly market research study commissioned by Ford Motor Company, registered improvement in various areas in Al Tayer Motors' after-sales and service operations that contributed to increased customer satisfaction. Customer Viewpoint measures and tracks customer satisfaction levels with the sales and service experiences at Ford dealerships across the region.
UASC launches new service
United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) in collaboration with Hanjin Shipping, Hyundai Merchant Marine and Yang Ming (UK), announced the launching of a new service covering the trade route between Asia and the Adriatic Sea. The four carriers will jointly deploy eight Panamax vessels on this service and the port rotation will cover Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Colombo, Jeddah, Port Said (W), Alexandria, Mersin, Koper, Trieste, Rijeka, Venice, Port Said (W), Singapore, Hong Kong, Busan. The maiden voyage for this service will commence at Busan on the week of May 30.
Tour operators test 2010 Nissan Patrol

Accordingly, Arabian Automobiles Company organised for tour companies from the UAE to thoroughly test the all-new 2010 Nissan Patrol in the deserts. Gargash launches Mercedes Gullwing
Gargash Enterprises unfolded the mystery behind its new Mercedes-AMG ‘Gullwing' Super Sports car at a glittering ceremony in its Shaikh Zayed Road showroom on Wednesday.With its purist design the new SLS is expected to revolutionise the philosophy of contemporary sports car engineering.
The dramatic launch of the ‘Gullwing' supercar was followed by a fashion show that featured an exclusive fashion collection with a wing-theme. Renowned Middle East designers including Walid Attallah, Rabia Z, Ameera Amir and Troy Costa had the guests in awe with their futuristic fashion collections. They presented up to the minute, style-conscious innovative designs, which expressed modernity and dynasmism, attributes that also define the new SLS AMG.
