BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Saudi Chevron Phillips Co., or S-Chem, a fifty-fifty petrochemical joint venture between U.S.-based Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. and Saudi Industrial Investment Group, has resumed production at three of its plants after they were closed for one month in October for periodic maintenance, Saudi-based Al Riyadh daily reports Thursday.

The plants have a combined annual production capacity of 1.9 million tons comprising 780,000 tons of motor fuels, 835,000 tons of benzene, and 290,000 tons of cyclohexene, the paper reports.

Sales weren't affected during the maintenance period because the company had enough stocks to meet customer demand, Saeed Ba Jodah, S-Chem's executive president, told the paper.
