Roads and Transport Authority - Majdi Abu Zaid:

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost their cooperation and partnership in the interest of both parties with the aim of delivering excellent services to customers and ensuring the health & safety of community members in Dubai.

Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA's Licensing Agency and Head of its Crises & Emergency Team signed the MoU for RTA, and HE Khalifa Hasan Al-Darrai, Executive Director of Dubai Corporation signed it for Ambulance Services, in the presence of several officials from both parties.

At the start of the meeting, Bahrozyan welcomed attendees and said: "This MoU aims at stepping cooperation and integration with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to enable the delivery of tasks assigned to both parties at a high level. This can be achieved through enhancing the integration of services, particularly during critical times experienced by both parties. The MoU also assists the sharing of expertise, knowledge and advanced business processes in areas of common concern.

"The MoU included several provisions calling for RTA to deliver to the Corporation during emergencies and crises such as buses & drivers, allocating designated parking areas for ambulance vehicles at the metro stations, and offering assistance to facilitate the job of ambulance vehicles during transit in Dubai Emirate among other relevant topics," added Bahrozyan.

Al-Darrai noted that the MoU called for the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services to hold courses about first aid, participate in RTA's mock emergency & accidents drills, deploy ambulance vehicles in designated places at the metro stations, and take part in RTA's events to deliver expert knowledge and highlight lessons learned in the field of health & safety.

The two parties agreed to form a joint committee of not more than four members chaired by RTA to follow up the implementation of the overall objectives of the MoU, offer reciprocal services, sort out any obstacles in the way of implementing the MoU, and set up new plans & programs for boosting the partnership between the two entities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties exchanged trophies hoping that the MoU will clear the way for higher levels of cooperation in delivering excellent services capable of enhancing customers' satisfaction rating, and bringing happiness to people, which are key objectives of our government.
