Muscat - Saraya Bandar Jissahhas implemented an array of community based initiatives aimed at creating a meaningful difference within the neighbourhood of Qantab. The close partnership with the local community has led Saraya Bandar Jissah to commission the construction of a Majlis in the village of Qantab, with the construction contract recently awarded to Ghantoot Transporting & General Contracting Establishment (GTGC).

The Majlis will not only provide a meeting point and community centre, but will serve as a landmark of the symbiotic relationship that the company shares with the families and the youth of the village. The Majlis is set to become a central community venue for events and gatherings for the members of the Qantab village.

"After handing over the FIFA-standard football field to the Qantab Football Team last month, we are happy to announce that the construction of the Majlisalready began. A Majlis is the heart of every Omani village, and a place where elders and youth alike gather together for councils, meetings and celebrations. At the initial planning stage, we stayed mindful of the importance of building a Majlis with state-of-the-art modern amenities. As it serves administrative, social or religious purposes, Saraya Bandar Jissah believed that is it a thoughtful way to contribute to the community. We are confident that GTGC will bring our vision for the community to life and look forward to handing over the Majlis on its completion." Hamood Bin Sultan AlHosni, CEO of Saraya Bandar Jissah.

On being awarded the contract, Eng. Nidal Al Armouti, Area General Manager at GTGC said, "We are proud to be involved in this community-driven project. At GTGC, it is our constant endeavour to deliver projects of global standards safely and efficiently in keeping with our best practices. That said, we are confident to be alive to deliver the Majlis for the village of Qantab within the designated timeframe and bolster Saraya Bandar Jissah's contributions to the local community. "

Saraya Bandar Jissah, which is being developed in partnership between Omran and Saraya Oman, is located on the outskirts of Muscat on a secluded beach surrounded by the Hajar Mountains. The destination is being built on 2.2mn sqm of land with an expansive beachfront and a high point of 250m above sea level. Saraya Bandar Jissah will be home to 398 exclusive residential units, spacious hilltop villas, stylish town-houses and luxury apartments - all with attractive waterfront and mountainside views. Scheduled for a grand opening in 2017, the two hotels form the major leisure components of Saraya Bandar Jissah, providing their guests with a luxurious and relaxing home away from the day-to-day rigours of life.
