MUSCAT -- A symposium titled 'the potentials of Omani-Italian joint investment' was held at the premises of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).The forum was attended by the Italian trade delegation currently visiting the country, businessmen and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

Shihab bin Yusuf bin Alawi, OCCI board member said the meeting comes within the framework of enhancing investment relations between the two countries, adding that it is an opportunity for discussing aspects of co-operation between businessmen in both countries.

He said the Sultanate boasts of huge investment potentials and has already accomplished large projects in which the private sector contributed immensely.

During the meeting some Omani firms gave detailed explanation of their investment projects and their key achievements.

The executive director of Omran Company briefed the attendees of his company which is one of the biggest tourism companies in the Sultanate and is currently implementing a number of tourism projects.

Shumoukh Investment Co, a key contributor to the Sultanate's industrial growth, also gave a briefing about its investment activities.
