MUSCAT -- The Board of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) yesterday held its first meeting of the new term 2011-2014, under the chair of Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, Board Chairman.
The chairman affirmed that the trust accorded to the body by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos is the driving force towards overcoming all difficulties. It prompts us to exert our utmost efforts to serve the goals and programmes of sustainable development in both the productive and services sectors.

He said that the Board is going on with its plans and programmes for the upcoming period within the framework of His Majesty the Sultan's Royal directives and the requirements of the development process particularly the human resources development. The chairman noted that OCCI managed over the last term (2007-2010) to implement a number of activities and programmes to reinforce the work and performance of private establishments and its ability to execute development projects. The private sector is working amid a healthy climate marked by some basic principles.
