Oman Insurance Company, through its subsidiary ITACO Bahrain Co., stepped in to assist several of its motor insurance customers stranded due to vehicle failures as a result of the rainstorm in the UAE last week, with its roadside assistance service.

On Wednesday, March 9, when the rainfall was at its peak, the roadside assistance contact center logged a huge spike from the average daily calls. While the increased number of emergencies put a strain on the assistance services, the team still managed to effectively assist motor insurance customers last Wednesday.

Through this service, provided as a part of their motor insurance cover, several Oman Insurance customers could avail of assistance services on the toll free number or through the unique mobile app - AssistPal. Due to the heavy traffic on the toll free number, several customers found it very convenient to use this mobile app to register their assistance request online.

Omar Javier, Managing Director of ITACO states, "While our team had a challenging time prioritizing the calls that overwhelmed our contact center last week, we are proud that in such exceptional times we successfully assisted our customers impacted by the heavy rains." There were instances of course where the assistance team reached the site only to find that very little could actually be done due to high water levels. But the ITACO assistance team remained unfazed and continued to reach out and help customers. This assistance continued well into the following weekend as well.

This success clearly demonstrates Oman Insurance's focus on improving customer experience and the effective use of available technology to enhance that experience.
