Tehran - Oil Minister Massoud Mirkazemi in a message on Wednesday to the Iran Oil Show 2011 said that the Oil Ministry of the country aims to have active presence in international arenas.  

Referring to the strategic world place the Islamic Republic has held, Mirkazemi said playing constructive roles in international events and global communities is a need of the country.

The acceleration of implementation of the South Pars projects and promotion of cooperation with the friendly neighboring countries are the necessities for the ministry's objectives, the oil minister added.

Pointing to the strong presence of foreign firms in the Iran Oil Show 2011, the Iranian oil minister said this proves the ineffectiveness of the sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic.

Iran's 16th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2011) is to be held on April 15-19.

Some 1,390 foreign and domestic companies are to take part in the international event in Tehran.

Spain, Russia, Austria, Britain, Italy, Germany, India, Norway, Denmark, Singapore, the UAE, Canada, Brazil, China, Japan and Thailand are among those states participating in the Iran Oil Show 2011.
