Dubai, February 3, 2016

National Geographic Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Media's Arabic documentary channel, will cover the second edition of the UAE Drones for Good Award competition launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler Dubai, and the UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The award events will take place in Dubai Internet City from 4 to 6 February 2016 with the participation of 40 teams from the UAE and around the world.

The partnership comes within the efforts to strengthen cooperation between the various stakeholders to support initiatives aimed at highlighting the latest innovations and successful practices from around the world, and using them for the benefit of all segments of the society.

Saif Al Aleeli, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation and Coordinator General of the UAE Drones for Good Award and UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good, stressed the importance of this strategic partnership to broaden the viewership of the competitions and encourage innovators to develop their potential abilities using modern technologies to provide future innovative government services.

Abdul Hadi Al Sheikh, Executive Director of the Department of Television at Abu Dhabi Media, said: "This partnership comes as part of our strategy to cover the activities and competitions of these awards in line with our commitment to broadcast distinctive events. It is also a part of our efforts to educate the community by highlighting the most important aspects of the competition through short films on our social media channels."

National Geographic Abu Dhabi will document the competitions to create short films on the participants and the winners and post them on the channel's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube platforms to inform the public about these awards. It will provide information about the participating teams, in addition to exclusive interviews with innovators and experts.

National Geographic Abu Dhabi has more than 55 million followers on its social media platforms.
