Investment deal between Metito, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation wins DealfeedIntl's Top Transaction Award

Metito, the leader and provider of choice for total intelligent water management solutions in emerging markets, has been awarded the 'Best Strategic Transaction - Asia'by DealfeedIntl. part of their Top Transaction Awards 2014. The award celebrates the strategic equity deal that was concluded between Metito, Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in 2014.

Metito Managing Director, Rami Ghandour, commented on the award: "This synergistic partnership with MC, MHI and JBIC cements Metito's unique industry proposition and its significance is not just limited to those involved but to the entire water and wastewater industry. This award commemorates this."

For this deal, Metito worked with TC Capital as Transaction Advisors and Gibson Dunn as Legal Advisors.  MC, MHI and JBIC were advised by KPMG as Transaction Advisors including financial and tax, Allen &Overyas Legal Advisors, and Arup as Technical Advisors.

The award from DealfeedIntl. could prove to be the start of a busy awards season for Metito as it has also been announced by Global Water Intelligence's (GWI) that Metito has been shortlisted for the prestigious Water Company of the Year award, part of the coveted Global Water Awards 2015.

This title award is given to the company that made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector and will be presented at the annual Global Water Summit, the major business conference for the water industry worldwide.

According to GWI, Metito's inclusion on the shortlist has been secured through its achievements operating in developing markets, and actively establishing sustainable outlets in difficult operating environments. Its corporate ambitions surrounding the international investment deal with MC, MHI and JBIC was also a highlight, and investments in advanced technology, such as the tie-up with low-temperature distillation company TPTec, marked Metito's first major equity investment in technology, demonstrating an expanded ambition for internal technical expertise.

The Global Water Awards will be presented by José Manuel Barroso,former President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Portugal, at a ceremony at the Nasioutzik Museum, Athens, Greece, on April 27th., 2015.
