Cairo - Magdy Hassanhas been appointed as General Manager - Egypt and North Africa, atMasterCard.

In a significant expansion of his previous role as MasterCard's Country Manager for Egypt, Magdy is now responsible for leading MasterCard's commercial activities and operations in the North Africa cluster.

Mr. Hassan has over twenty years of experience in payments and lending,and hasbeen with MasterCard since 2003. During his time with the company, he has overseen the development, execution and rollout of numerous products and solutions in the Egyptian market andhas beeninstrumental in developing solid relationships for MasterCard with prominent customer financial institutions.

Commenting on the expansion of the leadership team in Egypt and North Africa, Raghu Malhotra - President, Middle East and North Africa, MasterCard, commented: "Magdybrings with him a wealth of experience, and is ideally placed to head our business across Egypt and North Africa. He has a deep understanding of the payments space and unique insight into the region he will be heading. Before joining MasterCard, Mr. Hassan held a number of roles including Head of Consumer Lending for the National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia as well as serving in various card businesses and IT functions in BanqueMisr.
