KUWAIT, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- Authorities are reviewing the 2040 state structural strategy with the aim of coping with wide-scale socio-economic changes and developments in the country, an authority says.

The draft project for upgrading the state structural scheme (2040) is being worked out, in preparation for submission to the relevant authorities for approval, said Walid Al-Jassem, the assistant director for structural planning and organizational affairs of Kuwait Municipality.

The strategy in the making will lay down broad-lines of schemes for future construction ventures, he said in remarks to KUNA.

Process of development and modernization is based on review of the state structural schemes, he added.

In line with the municipality's keenness on coordination with other authorities involved in the country's development, a meeting will be held on Thursday to address such issues, said Al-Jassem, noting that it would be attended by Minister of Public works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Fadhel Safar and the Municipality Director-General, Ahmad Al-Sebeeh.

Upgrading the state scheme will be in light of altering the infrastructure in a manner that will serve the population needs, he said, alluding to other factors in this respect, namely transports, utilities and population density.
