'E-transactions from October'

KUWAIT CITY: Starting October, the Labor Sector at the Ministry of Social Affair and Labor will deal only with employers and mandoubs (company representatives) and "not entertain expatriate workers due to the congestion they cause at labor departments," informed sources told Al-Rai daily.

Also, the transactions of Labor Sector will be processed electronically from October, they said, adding employers will be allowed to transfer and renew work permits through the electronic gate of the sector.
Sources said the ministry will provide secret codes to employers to enable them to log on to files of their companies and finalize all their transactions, except the work permit issuance for which the employer or the company representative will have to personally visit the department.

Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Sector Jamal Al-Dosri instructed cleaning and security companies to replace the workers working in labor departments with new workers. Sources say cleaning workers and security guards working for a long time in labor departments have got acquainted with the work procedures and so, employees of labor departments started depending on the workers excessively. The step of replacing workers is aimed at avoiding suspicions, noted sources.
