Hydra Properties, the UAE-based developer, yesterday announced that Kele Contracting will be its lead construction contractor for Hydra Towers.

Kele Contracting, which has worked with Hydra Properties on pre-tender construction and planning, has already commenced work on site.

All enabling work, including shoring, piling and excavation activities has been completed and the sub-structure works are now ongoing. Work is on schedule for completion by the end of 2011.

Hydra Towers consists of five high-rise buildings, of between 20 and 36 floors. One of the towers is dedicated for businesses owned and operated by women.

Ali bin Sulayem, Chief Executive of Hydra Properties, said: "We are pushing ahead with construction on many different projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and we are delighted to report this progress on Hydra Towers."

Kele Contracting is a Dubai-based company established in partnership with Enshaa and Australian affiliate Kele International Holdings. It has an order book of contracts worth more than Dh2.5 billion, all of which started in 2009 and are currently under construction.
