Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, conference to kick off on February 16, 2015

UAE, February 14, 2015 - Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) is set to explore the latest cutting-edge solutions dealing with 'Quality and Business Management' and 'Health and Environment,' two of the four key tracks in the Innovation Arabia 8 conference running from February 16 to 18, 2015 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the university. The event will be held under the theme 'Innovate, Collaborate, and Differentiate: Honouring the Past, Treasuring the Present, and Shaping the Future."

'Quality and Business Management' and 'Health and Environment' will be discussed within the framework of innovation and creativity in line with the 'Dubai Innovation Partners' initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin mohammed. The initiative aims to promote creative ideas and innovative solutions to improve the quality of life in the country and ensure a better future for the next generation.

Titled 'Quality and Business Management: Exploring Synergies Leading Towards Innovation,' the 'Quality and Business Management' track aims to encourage academicians and decision and policy makers to enhance the link between business methodologies and creativity as well as review the theoretical concepts and practices relating to quality management.

Among the important topics under the track are 'Innovation Management for Sustainable Development,' 'Measuring Performance of Quality and Innovation,' 'Public Policy to Promote Innovation in the MENA Region,' 'The role of Innovative Thinking and in Developing Marketing Strategies in Competitive Markets,' and 'Successful HR Practices to Support Innovation.' The track will also cover two key subjects, namely 'How to Integrate Innovation into the Curriculum' and 'The Use of Social Media to Transform Businesses and Governmental Organizations.'

With the main theme 'Promoting Innovative Health and Environmental Interventions,' the 'Health and Environment' track, on the other hand, will focus on ways to strengthen regional integration through partnerships that promote modern health and environmental approaches. It will revolve around raising awareness within the health sector about innovative approaches in information technology and data standardization in the UAE. Additionally, the track will assess the local and global progress in water resources management and environmental sustainability, identify the challenges to implement health reforms, and help come up with comprehensive solutions to improve health quality.

'Health and Environment' will attract wide participation from stakeholders, environment policy makers, representatives from non-government agencies, experts, researchers and academicians in the health care, environment, and water sectors.  They will submit research papers on a range of vital topics, including 'Smart Health and E-health,' 'Health Quality Improvement,' 'Environmental Sustainability,' 'Innovative Environmental Technologies,' 'Occupational Health and Safety,' and 'Innovative Health and Environmental Education Approaches,' among others.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMSU Chancellor said: "We have included the 'Quality and Business Management' track in the Innovation Arabia 8 agenda due to the importance of quality management in maintaining the country's economic system and social structure based on solid foundations.  This is imperative in today's globalized world and especially after witnessing the effects of the economic crisis. Through the upcoming discussions, we seek to explore ways to promote a culture of quality and creativity as a main pillar to accelerate sustainable economic and social development regionally and globally."   

Al Awar added: "The topics to be discussed under the 'Health and Environment' track will address the challenges facing the health and environment sectors. The discussions will center on the local and regional best practices and the latest innovative solutions in environmental protection, nature preservation, water resource management, and environmental sustainability. Our goal is to build a secure and sustainable future for all."

Innovation Arabia 8 conference will discuss policies and strategies and present leading academic researches under four main tracks: 'Quality and Business Management,' 'Health and Environment,' 'Smart Learning Excellence,' and 'Islamic Banking and Finance.' It will also include, awards programs, direct meetings and networking opportunities with prominent academicians, decision makers, researchers, experts, and representatives of international organizations, government agencies and private organizations. They will discuss the latest emerging trends and current and future industry challenges as well as come up with appropriate solutions to sustain the Arab region's continuous development.
