US$ 100 million GP Property Fund Set to Offer Investors

Access into India's Highly Attractive Real Estate Market

The May 2015 launch of the GP Property Fund domiciled in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and adhering to DFSA regulations is aimed at providing investors a platform to participate in India's growing real estate market. In the view of its sponsor Mr.  Sudhir Goyel, MD of GP Group commenting about his firm's US $10 Million sponsorship of the fund stated that investment opportunities in the Indian Real Estate market are highly attractive.  Especially at a time when property prices are at cyclical lows, investing in real estate represents a significant long-term opportunity in terms of returns and diversification.

Fund Director Mr. Manan Goel points out that real estate investments generally present greater returns compared to other asset classes. GP Property Fund takes a strategic approach to property investment, offering investors the potential of receiving superior risk-adjusted proceedings by investing in India's developing real estate segment forecasted to prosper in the years ahead. The Fund will consider viable property investments, for example into assets which have been over-geared and require restructuring of the existing debt, converting from a debt to equity finance model.  Mr. Manan Goel further elaborates that the Fund is associated with reputable international firms, including its administrator, Maples Fund Services, a global leader in fund services with operations in key jurisdictions. With over a decade's presence in the region, Maples Fund Services has a stellar track record in Fund Administration services catering to diverse clients ranging from hedge funds and private equity firms to real estate funds.  Maples Fund Services' strong performance has been consistently acknowledged, with industry recognition and numerous accolades being awarded to the firm.

GP Group Vice President Mr. Tarun Chopra provides oversight on the Fund with his diversified experience in the financial sector: As an ex head of Citibank's investments and insurance business banking in UAE he brings relevant experience to the Fund. Prior to joining GP, he was with Citibank in Europe, UK, and US and has also worked for PriceWaterHouse Coopers in US and is a graduate from London Business School. Mr. Tarun Chopra stated that this Fund will select various means of structuring both the underlying Portfolio Investments for the Fund, taking into account factors such as the most efficient holding and investment vehicles through which to make Investments from a tax perspective, local regulations in India and the DIFC (and the wider United Arab Emirates) and FDI Regulations. He believes that the Indian market is competent for generating higher returns, as the future market cycle is predicted to be profitable due to growing urban population, robust industrial sector and infrastructure that is supported by new government reforms to benefit the economic landscape in India. The Fund is only available to professional investors.
