Dubai: A flydubai flight to Beirut in Lebanon was forced to return to Dubai on Tuesday morning due to an issue with one of the aircraft’s engines.

An airline spokesperson told Gulf News by email on Tuesday that the airline “decided that flight FZ157 should return to Dubai due to the performance of one of the engines”.

Flight FZ157 departs daily to Beirut at 8am and lands at 11.10am local time. The flight is listed as “cancelled” on the airline’s website.

The aircraft has landed back at Dubai International where the airline said it was looking after passengers who would be “accommodated on the next available flight”.

It is unclear what caused the engine issue. The airline did not say how many crew and passengers were on-board.

Flydubai operates three flights a day to Beirut from Dubai International, according to its website.
