Dubai, 28 January, 2015 - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced today its support of the "digital publishing" campaign established by the Emirates Publishers Association. The campaign is an attempt to issue books by UAE publishers on the internet, transforming the dependence on paper publishing through a partnership with neelwafurat.com, the biggest Arabic website for books and e-publishing.

The TRA is a major supporter of projects aimed at empowering national talents, particularly in its role as a regulator for the UAE ICT sector. Working alongside the Emirates Publishers Association for the completion of the smart devices application, is in line with the vision of transitioning the UAE into a smart nation.

"The TRA is pleased to cooperate with the Emirates Publishers Association, to see their vision of e-publishing the nation's authors on the web become a reality. Through funding and supporting the campaign, we are enforcing the importance of having a sustainable online presence in all aspects that relay back to the mGovernment Initative, introduced and backed by our wise leadership. We are standing behind this project as it explores the depth of our nation's culture and literature," said H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General in TRA.

The campaign will allow further exposure for the nation's authors, introducing a larger audience to their books and written materials. The new project is estimated to require an operational budget of 220,000 dirhams during its inaugural year, which includes the creation, hosting and maintenance of the online application and the e-publishing of 1,000 titles on the internet platform.
