Dubai - The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative in Dubai by Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has set another milestone with EMGAS appointing Applus IDIADA as its Technical Consultant and its sister company Applus VELOSI as the exclusive third party inspection agency for its CNG Project in Dubai. Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) has officially nominated EMGAS as the "Executor" of CNG Project in Dubai.
Applus IDIADA, the world-class automotive development partner, brings the strengths of Applus VELOSI, an entity focused on asset integrity consultancy, vendor surveillance, third-party inspection, testing, and certification body. Applus IDIADA, a leading company specialising in providing design, engineering, testing and homologation services to the automotive industry worldwide will provide consultancy, training and engineering services for the CNG/NGV programme of EMGAS in the UAE.
Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director of ENOC Gas Marketing and General Manager of EMGAS, signed the agreement with Josep-Maria Farran, Chief Operating Officer of Applus IDIADA Group at a ceremony held at the Applus IDIADA Headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.

The agreement includes the provision of technical consultancy services and training by IDIADA and third party inspection services by Applus VELOSI. Both services are aimed at providing support, know-how and other relevant items for the development of a CNG/NGV Programme in Dubai, as well as the establishment of a Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Centre of Excellence in Dubai.
Three dedicated CNG Daughter Stations are being installed at the premises of EMGAS customers - DP World, Dubai Airports and Emirates Driving Institute, for quick and efficient distribution of CNG. The seamless supply of CNG through the Daughter Stations is assured through a fleet of dedicated trailers, which tops up the clean fuel on a regular basis. EMGAS also owns and operates a CNG mobile filling unit, which tours customer premises to distribute CNG as per their requirements.
Credited with launching CNG in Dubai, EMGAS is the largest supplier of LPG in the UAE, and the market leader in supplying a variety of LPG products and propane used in industrial, commercial establishments and residential areas.
