The Green Line of the Dubai Metro is not expected to be open for passengers until much later this year.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had previously said it would be opened in August but yesterday revealed it will not be ready until the last quarter of this year.
The Green Line will extend for around 23km and have 18 metro stations, including six underground stops, when it is fully operational. It will start at Al Nahda Street in Al Qusais and pass through Union Square where it meets the already operational Red Line. It will then cross Al Ras before heading towards Al Shindagha, Dubai Healthcare City and Al Jaddaf.
