Government body promoted its range of products and services in important market

Dubai - United Arab Emirates - Dubai Land Department (DLD) has reported a successful participation at the recently concluded Dubai Property Show, which was held in London, U.K. Taking a major stand at the exhibition, which ran from February 27 until March 1 in Great Britain's capital, DLD reported a large number of visitors and investors inquiring about the opportunities to invest in Dubai's burgeoning real estate market.

"The Dubai Property Show was the perfect opportunity for us to promote Dubai's environment for real estate investment," said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General, DLD. "London represents an extremely important market for us through its strong commercial ties to Dubai and the fact that there currently already more than 19,000 British customers who have invested in more than 30,000 real estate units across the emirate. Investors from the U.K. have pumped nearly AED 57 billion into Dubai's real estate market; a figure which sees them at third place on the list of most investor nationalities by expenditure," he added.

In addition to fielding enquiries and imparting important information at the main exhibition, DLD also participated in a number of important side panel discussions to introduce Dubai's property investment climate and highlight its strengths. One such presentation titled: 'Why Invest in Dubai?' detailed the attractions of the emirate's real estate market, such as its commitment to transparency and the strong regulatory framework provide by DLD. It explained the range of initiatives and programmes that have been put in place by DLD's Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre.

"We planned a comprehensive programme for our participation at the Dubai Property Show. Our scheduling started a couple of months ago in order for us to bring on board the most number of partners and show Dubai in the best possible light to potential investors," said Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director-General, DLD. "In conjunction with our esteemed partners, we were able to make a significant contribution to the image of the city of Dubai and demonstrate various products and services in front of potential buyers in a city that has a population of over eight million people," she added.

The strong responses from visitors to the Dubai Property Show resulted in real estate developers such as Damac and Dubai Properties selling tens of units and villas on the sidelines of the exhibition. Such was its success that DLD intends to continue establishing more exhibitions in other capitals and major cities across the world. DLD aims to repeat its successful formula of grouping developers and sales agents, representatives of financial institutions, government departments and those working in the fields of architecture, interior design and other relevant sector areas, all under one umbrella in order to showcase its ability to provide an all-encompassing array of services.

"Dubai Property Show was visited by more than 4,000 visitors during its first two days, with DLD's stand servicing a high demand from investors for real estate projects in Dubai. This confirms the success of DLD's participation and motivates us to repeat the experience in the coming years, not only in London, but in other cities around the world," said Sultan Al Suwaidi, partner in Sumansa Exhibitions, organisers of the Dubai Property Show and strategic partner of DLD.
