Government body expounds on emirate's benefits as a real estate investment destination

Dubai - Dubai Land Department (DLD)'s strategic partnering with the Dubai Property Show, a major real estate exhibition taking place in London U.K., has been enhanced with a series of important discussion panels. The government body is hosting the sideline forums at the event, which runs from February 27 until March 1 with the aim of introducing to potential customers the investment climate in Dubai, including the opportunities it presents and the strengths it enjoys from effective regulation.

"DLD is playing a vital role in these sideline discussions as they correspond with its mission and strategic objectives, which are to promote Dubai as the leading global destination for real estate investment. The presentations presented by the department team will provide facts and figures that demonstrate the attractiveness of Dubai as an international haven for investments," said His Excellency Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the DLD. "With the participation of top developers working in the local market, we expect that this event will achieve its goals in front of potential investors in one of the most important cities in the world," he added.

DLD's Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre, the organisation's investment arm, will be using the discussion panels to give an integrated focus on the attractions of Dubai's real estate sector. Titled 'Why invest in Dubai?,' one of the sessions presents important general information and highlight DLD's services through its various departments and divisions. It details the range of initiatives and programmes that have been advanced by the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre to support Dubai's buoyant property market.

"We are taking part in the Dubai Property Show to promote the real estate environment in Dubai. To further this aim, we are mobilising our energies to participate actively in a number of seminars organised during the exhibition," said Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General of DLD and Head of the Investment Management and Promotion Centre. "This show enables us to highlight the preferential features for our local market as it is being held in one of the most prestigious European capitals, London, which enjoys strong business links with Dubai, as well as a solid trade exchange," she added.

In addition to expounding on the benefits of Dubai's property market for investors, DLD's Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre will also participate in another panel held under the title 'Sustainability,' which addresses the topic of real estate sustainability and what it includes in terms of the recognised and accepted worldwide standards.

The number of Dubai developers participating in the Dubai Property Show has reached 35 and includes such renowned names as Emaar Properties, Dubai Properties Group, Dyar, Al Barari and Union Properties, as well as other real estate developers and brokers working in Dubai's property market.

Statistics released by DLD show that the number of British investors in Dubai's real estate market exceeds 19,000, with these customers spending nearly AED 57 billion on more than 30,000 properties. The high level of activity sees British real estate investors coming in at third place on the list of top investors in Dubai's real estate market.
