Lebanese citizens return from Libya via Turkey

07 March 2011

BEIRUT: Twenty-one Lebanese nationals living in Libya arrived in Rafik Hariri International Airport Sunday via Istanbul, as the Foreign Ministry announced it was following up on the transfer of others from Turkish, Syrian and Egyptian ports. Efforts are also being made to evacuate 25 Lebanese in Libya aboard a ship destined for the port of Latakia in Syria, the statement added. The Foreign Ministry urged Lebanese wishing to leave the Libyan city of Benghazi to call Lebanese Ghassan Bakri on 03-211-108, saying the latter voiced his readiness to transfer Lebanese nationals aboard his ship AZZERRA, which is currently docked in Malta. – The Daily Star
