The Food Control Department at Dubai Municipality honored foodstuff companies and establishments that won the title of the Best Customer in 2009 committed to the health standards and requirements.
Khalid Mohammed Sharif, Director of Food Control Department said the Municipality is keen to honour the best of its customers for their contribution and cooperation with the department in achieving its objectives towards the preservation of hygiene and safety of the food of the community.
Sharif stressed that the department was keen to choose customers based on their efforts and cooperation with the department as well as to the history of their safe dealings with food, according to the standards and requirements and the approved specifications.
He noted that the recognition makes these companies to commit to continued cooperation with the department and encourages other companies to cooperate with the department in achieving its objectives and achieve a safe and hygienic food environment worthy of the reputation of the Emirate of Dubai.
The customers were honoured in different categories. In the food establishments category that are committed to the hygienic conditions and standards for food imports the Municipality honoured Spinneys Dubai LLC.
In the category of food factories committed to the hygienic standards for food imports was MARS GCC FZE was honoured. In the category of foodstuff establishments that excelled in training its employees IKEA Restaurant & Café at Festival City and ASWAAQ restaurant were honoured.
In the category of establishments committed to the health conditions with A Grade the Dubai World Trade Center was honoured and in the category of best food establishments that showed excellence in the application of risk management system of food safety (HACCP), Oasis Pure Water Factory and Wild Flavors Middle East FZE were honoured. In the category of outstanding customer Mr. Ramesh from T. Choitram Dubai was selected by the Municipality.
