There are 481 alumni from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), young professionals who have graduated and are now working in business and technology jobs in Qatar and around the world. The growing group of young professionals, particularly those who now work in Qatar, remains connected through a series of networking events throughout the year.

Carnegie Mellon Qatar recently celebrated the five year reunion for the Class of 2010 at a dinner reception. The third class to graduate from CMU-Q, alumni members reconnected, reminisced and networked at the special event.  

In October, alumni and faculty gathered on a traditional Qatari dhow cruise to share updates and work experiences. Sama Kanbour, an information systems graduate who is now part of the IT Leadership Program at General Electric, said, "My time at Carnegie Mellon Qatar was instrumental in becoming who I am today. Carnegie Mellon encourages you to become an independent learner which is an invaluable skill that will serve me well throughout my career."

Carnegie Mellon Qatar graduates are highly sought after by local, regional and international organizations. They are employed in top organizations such as Google, Microsoft, Qatar Petroleum, Shell and Commercial Bank Qatar, or are pursuing graduate studies. Carnegie Mellon Qatar graduates join the group of more than 100,000 Carnegie Mellon alumni worldwide.

The application deadline for the Fall 2016 academic year is March 1, 2016 and students are encouraged to apply early.
