JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia's largest water and power event is to hold interactive technical workshops in cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Electricity.
Taking place from June 6-8 at the Dhahran International Exhibition Center in the Eastern Province, WEPower combines a senior level conference and international exhibition focused on sustaining Saudi Arabia's growing demand for water and power.
The latest speaker to be added to the conference agenda is governor of the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority Abdullah Al-Shehri, who will deliver a keynote speech on the future strategies of his organization on the first day of the conference.
The technical workshops allow participants to gain valuable insight into technology and the expertise required to meet increasing water and power capacity demands and counter environmental concerns.
Chief technical officer of AquaSwiss AG George Schröder will lead the first session on multi-effect distillation on June 7.
On the same day, professor Ibrahim El-Amin of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals' electrical engineering department will lead a session on professional transmission and distribution engineers.
On the final day, CH2M Hill's VP for water supply and treatment Bill Bellamy will lead a workshop focusing on sustainability and optimizing the urban and industrial water cycle.
Registration for the conference and workshops is now open and more information can be found online at www.wepower-sa.com.
