MUSCAT -- Business Travel Services (BTS), belonging to Oman Holdings International Group, has introduced a novel concept for Sanad Service Centre beneficiaries, offering a unique opportunity to widen their entrepreneurial skills and improve earnings. BTS has signed an agreement with Bahwan CyberTek to introduce online air travel services at 15 Sanad Service Centre outlets in the capital and interior regions of Oman. In the first phase of the programme, customers can receive air travel services at the 15 centres spread out in Muscat, Adam, Nizwa, Sur, Sohar, Buraimi, Ibri, Khabourah and Salalah.
The Sanad centres chosen for the new service already facilitate online payment of utility bills, e-visa and other services by the ROP, besides high speed Internet services, office documentation work as well as digital scanning and sale of telecom products from the two service providers. All smart forms required to be submitted at the Ministry of Manpower can also be prepared at the centres, which were set up by Bahwan CyberTek to generate gainful employment for Omani youth through IT related services.
The addition of travel services at the Sanad centres will significantly widen the scope of their activity, drawing many customers, especially in the interior regions of Oman, Taji Pulikal, General Manager of BTS, said. The travel service at Sanad centres will be exclusively offered by BTS, he said, adding that the Ruwi branch of BTS will serve as the focal point, co-ordinating with the Sanad outlets and ensuring the smooth operation of the services. Bahwan CyberTek, through its group company Infoline, will provide the required training for Omanis manning the Sanad centres to handle the travel services, Pulikal said.
With the e-ticketing requirement for all airlines mandated by IATA taking effect this month, online air travel services offered by Sanad centres become all the more relevant, Pulikal said. The new service will add impetus to the self-employment opportunities in Oman, offering a win-win situation for all involved in the project, he added. Besides strengthening the Omanisation drive, the new service will also offer convenience to people in the interior areas. "BTS is convinced that the new facility will provide air travel assistance to people at their door step, leading to considerable cost savings. We always wanted to move ahead of technology, which is the way forward.
The service is well structured and hence it will definitely be successful. Customer relations is all about service and we are sure the Sanad centres, manned by dedicated Omanis, will achieve this objective," Pulikal said. "The main objective of this partnership is to promote our business in the capital area as well as in the interior regions of Oman where BTS will enjoy more visibility and increase volume of sales by effective networking through Infoline and Sanad Service Centres," Pulikal noted. BTS recently completed a major expansion at its main branch in Qurum, which serves premium corporate clients.
