About Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID):
Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development is an Arab financial institution which has an independent international legal entity. The idea to form the AAAID came after the 1973 October War when Arab leaders agreed upon on the importance of achieving food security in the region. The studies carried out by Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development showed that Sudan, with its potential agricultural resources, could provide huge quantity of food. Sudan was then chosen to be the launch pad for the Joint Arab Action to provide the largest amount of food products to the Arab countries. The institution was formally established in 1976, while the agreement of establishment and the statute came into force in March 1977.
