DOHA: The Qatar Alternative Energy Investors Summit that is scheduled to take place here on March 16 and 17 will highlight several upcoming international alternative energy projects and provide a platform for the participants to raise capital.
Organised by the Dubai-based naseba in partnership with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will host over 120 representatives from government authorities, investment firms and industry service providers all over the world.
Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, President of Kahramaa and chairman of Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), one of the key speakers at the summit said: "It is an excellent opportunity to meet with all pivots of the renewable energy industry including government representatives, academics, investors and the private sector representatives."
Ahead of 2022, Kahramaa recently announced projects worth $14bn.
Not completely relying on natural gas, Kahramaa is also focusing on the possibilities of renewable energy sources.
"Solar and wind energy are currently the top contenders for investment and development and hence give impetus to our projects on the most conducive technology, economic viability and practicality," said Al Kuwari.
In coherence with the expansion and investments plans of the region, the summit will highlight the key investment opportunities, announce upcoming regional projects, and host business deals.
