Volkswagen Middle East launched the all-new, redesigned and restyled Jetta in Dubai on Monday, following the car's success with over 9.6mn units sold across the world.

The all-new Jetta is an ideal choice for everyone who desires a German-designed, impressively-styled saloon that is comfortable, safe and yet affordable. The vehicle comes with a price tag starting from RO7,350, making Volkswagen automotive's excellence more affordable to people in the Middle East.

"The new Jetta combines German engineering and performance, safety and comfort in a whole new look," said Stefan Mecha, managing director, Volkswagen Middle East. "We have taken the best in class technology and innovation to a different level in order to produce our best Jetta ever. With the all-new Jetta, we are offering a car in the Middle East that will add a new dimension to saloons in the compact class. Volkswagen has a clear growth strategy in the Middle East for the sedan category, and the new Jetta is the first of the new models to be launched in the region," he added.

The new Jetta sports a 2.0lt petrol engine, producing 85kW/ 115 bhp, in addition to a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox. Larger and more comfortable, sustainable and dynamic, the designers and engineers have also crafted the interiors of the five seater down to the last detail.

"The extended wheel base of the new Jetta has enabled a rear seating layout that is significantly more comfortable, especially for families. Compared to the previous model, leg space has now increased by 6.7cm to 96.7cm," said Mecha.

The new Jetta is 4.64m long and delivers a superior class of compact sedan that combines a modern dynamic design, encompassing clear precise lines and athletically muscular surfaces.

It is available in three configurations including Trendline, Comfortline and Comfortline Plus. The Trendline model is the entry level into the world of the Jetta. When it comes to safety it offers six airbags, safety-optimised front headrests, separate daytime running lights, front 3-point belts with height adjustment and seat-belt tensioners, automatic hazard lights on hard braking, ABS with braking assistant and remote control central locking.

"With the new Jetta, Volkswagen has developed innovation in a saloon car, which is high-end, spacious, economical and efficient, and therefore will appeal to a wide audience in the Middle East," added Mecha.
