Appointment in line with advancing Qatari nationals' talents

Doha - February 1, 2015: Reem Al-Sowaidi, a Qatari graduate with a B.A. in International Business from Stenden University Qatar, has been appointed as the new Manager of the Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), the joint initiative between Qatar Development Bank and Silatech. Al-Sowaidi joined the Bedaya team in May 2012, and has been a valuable asset to the Center, which provides ambitious young people with a comprehensive set of career services including business development support, post-employment guidance, counseling and professional guidance.

A talented entrepreneur with aspirations to climb the career ladder since she first embarked on her professional life, Al-Sowaidi lends her creativity to Bedaya Center in many ways. She does graphic designs for the organization and produces its advertisements, and her passion for her work has made her an avid supporter of budding entrepreneurs wanting to start their own businesses. Reem is also known for her organization skills and aptitude for languages. She speaks fluent Spanish and has become a role model for her peers.

"First, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Mr. Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Khalifa, Chairman of Bedaya Centre, and all members of the board for their confidence in me, and I hope that I live up to this new responsibility and perform all my duties in line with expectations," said Al-Sowaidi.

"I have had the honour to work with Bedaya Center since the beginning of my professional life as a Qatari entrepreneur and a member of an exceptional team which has offered young Qataris numerous services in career development and entrepreneurship. We have held several training workshops, focusing on the basic skills that help young people need to start their journey in the Qatari labour market," added Reem, who also pointed out that the management team aims to make Bedaya Center the destination of choice for young people in Qatar.
