The books and computers have been divided between 11 schools in Abu Dhabi and 4 schools in Al Ain, based on their need and the space available in each school.

Dr. Terry Motiuk Abu Dhabi Universitys Vice Chancellor explained that ADU has always been keen on organizing events and activities, aimed at reinforcing community awareness on the importance of constructive and positive participation in social issues. Dr. Motiuk added: "Like many others of ADUs social responsibility activities, we were very committed towards contributing to the academic advancement of students throughout the UAE. Therefore, we are planning on making this contribution a regular aspect of ADUs annual social responsibility plan".

"We are honored to be able to help school administrations in their noble mission of educating and empowering young leaders and future generations of the UAE with the necessary knowledge they need to face any future challenges", said Dr. Motiuk. He pointed out that the book titles will be available at school libraries to students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 as they cover a wide range of topics in both Arabic and English including Math, Physics, English, Literature and other advanced school coursework.

On his part, Rajendran Padmanabham Principal of Sunrise English Private School in Abu Dhabi commended the initiative as it will not only contribute to the academic development of students, but will help the environment through increasing awareness on the importance of reusing and recycling books and refurbished electronic equipment.

"This grant allows us the opportunity to reduce the high costs that community schools have to dedicate out of their budget in order to increase and update the contents of their libraries. The donated books are a wonderful addition to our school library and they provide our students with diverse topics that will enhance their education and research skills", said Gulraiz Ahmed Husain Principal of the Pakistani Islamic School in Al Ain.
