Abu Dhabi, June 14th, 2011 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) recently held its 6th Future Leaders Conference (FLC 2011), to develop the leadership skills of young national professionals and prepare them to hold leading positions in the oil and gas sector, addressed development plans, leadership proficiency and industry challenges in line with ADNOC policy.
It also highlighted success stories and achievements of young national professionals, opportunities for career development, ways of strengthening employees experience and lessons learned. The conference held at the companys Headquarters and the InterContinental Hotel Abu Dhabi, was attended by representatives of Shareholders, members of the Senior Management, Divisional Managers and team and section leaders as well as company employees. In the opening remarks, on behalf of Chief Executive Officer Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, Abdulla Al Kaabi, Process Engineer, Das Island Division underlined the importance of engaging young professionals in the most effective way to enable them to carry out their tasks and responsibilities efficiently to help achieve the companys future plans and objectives. One of the main elements of this year conference was a talk by guest speaker Hussain Al Najar, a UAE professional leadership skills coach who gave an interesting lecture on "Emotional intelligence and Future Challenges. Sultan Hajji, Vice-President, Deputy Director General - TOTAL ABK, made a presentation on "Totals Future Challenges and Success Stories". The agenda of day two of the conference involved syndicate sessions which focused on bringing young professionals talents to light. To refresh the participants, a challenging experimental learning activity "ADMA 2020 project" was organized with emphasis on strategic planning & implementation skills as well as the ability to collaborate and apply the Companys vision. Young professionals were given the opportunity to network with role models and share knowledge and expertise. Divided into groups, the participants were asked to envisage ADMA-OPCOs future plans and how the companys growth schemes would like in future with the ambitious plan to achieve a production target of 1 mmbd in 2020. At the end of the event, the best achievers were presented with awards and certificates of recognition by Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Hajri CEO of Abu Dhabi Polymers Limited (Borouge), Ali Rashid Al Jarwan ADMA-OPCO CEO and Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi, Offshore Division Manager (ADNOC).
