DUBAI, 18th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Al Maktoum Foundation has distributed 1,000 food parcels in Zarqa Governorate in Jordan to underprivileged and low-income families, through partner associations in the city, at a cost of 20,000 Jordanian Dinar.

The gesture was in implementation to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and patron of the foundation, under the supervision of the UAE Embassy in Jordan.

1,000 families benefitted from the donation, which included needy families and special needs associations in Zarqa. The foundation is also organising an Iftar Project through the administration of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Mosque during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

A delegation headed by Mirza Al Sayegh, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Al Maktoum Foundation, visited Jordan and was briefed about preparations for Ramadan.

Beneficiaries extended thanks to the foundation for providing support for the underprivileged, orphans and handicapped.
