BEIRUT, March 27 (Reuters) - The Tabqa Euphrates dam is not damaged or malfunctioning and engineers inspected its operations fully, said Jihan Sheikh Ahmed, spokeswoman for the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces' campaign to capture Raqqa from Islamic State.

The SDF is fighting to capture the dam, about 40 km (26 miles) upstream of Raqqa, from the jihadist group, which said on Sunday that it was at risk of collapse, causing the U.S.-backed militia to pause its assault to give access to engineers.
