Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - International Golden Group (IGG), the Abu Dhabi-based supplier of high-end defense and Security Systems, signed five agreements for joint cooperation in the supply of defense systems with global companies; Leonardo, Milrem, FN HERSTAL, Risk & Co Security Technology and DMD-CZECHOSLOVAK at IDEX 2017.

IGG’s agreement with the high-tech aerospace, defense and security company Leonardo is to provide sustainable and competitive solutions that include advanced Security Operations Centres (SOCs) and cyber security protection in the UAE.

IGG aims to increase UAE’s accessibility to Leonardo’s state-of-the-art know-how and advanced defence and security systems through this long-term strategic partnership that integrates Leonardo’s expert solutions with the market knowledge offered by IGG, who is the current leader in high-level security systems and local provider of defence and security products and services to the UAE.

United Arab Emirates has underlined cyber security as paramount to the country’s safety and development, and has partnered with organizations to form a cyber mission force who will cater innovative and modern technology that allows real time-monitoring, reaction centres, information technology infrastructure and other cyber security tools that prevents cyber threats and attacks on the data and information assets of organizations in the UAE.

The second agreement signed by IGG with Milrem, the Estonian defence and security solutions provider, and Aselsan, the largest Turkish defence electronics company entails the development of a weaponized unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) for the UAE Armed Forces.

A prototype for the UGV was showcased at the IGG pavilion at IDEX 2017. It was demonstrated that the UGV can be controlled real-time with a remote control. The UGV is the first of its kind in the UAE and will be a tactical and useful technology on the battlefield as it highly decreases the chance of operational failures and collateral damage while increasing competitive edge and lethality.

Regarding the collaboration with Milrem, a spokesperson said, "The partnership with the International Golden Group (IGG) will expand defense operations and enable the development of the technology required for production of the most modern and advanced equipment in the Middle East.” The company added that the new vehicle is the first product manufactured under the joint venture and will be dispatched for multiple missions.

IGG struck a deal with FN HERSTAL the manufacturer and distributor of firearms and accessories, for the supply of light and medium weapons. A fourth agreement with Risk & Co Security Technology enlists the organization’s expertise to establish a specialized simulation center in the UAE.

IGG has also signed an exclusive contract with defense and civil industrial company DMD- CZECHOSLOVAK GROUP, to distribute defense products in the UAE and the Gulf region. The company specializes in designing and developing modern land-based weapons, specialized military vehicles, ammunition, logistics and machinery products for the automotive and aerospace industry.
